Introduction to the Sticker Printing Process Jul 16

Printing process refers to various ways of secondary processing of printed products, with the purpose of enhancing the visual effect of printed products.

Now, let us introduce to you some commonly used printing processes for stickers and labels.

  • CMYK printing

1. CMYK is a method of color printing with 4 color inks of yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C) and black (BK). In theory, CMYK printing can print thousands of colors.

2. It is the most common color printing process, and the effect is different on different materials.

  • Solid color printing (Pantone Color)

1. Solid color printing means that a special ink is used to print the color during printing, which is brighter than the mixed color of CMYK colors.

2. Please refer to Pantone Color Card.

  • Glossy lamination

1.After printing, a transparent plastic film is applied to the surface of the printed sticker label through hot pressing to protect the content of the sticker label and increase its gloss. The surface is bright, as shown in the figure below.

2. It is also the basic process of box surface treatment. Similarly, there is over-varnish, but covering plastic film can enhance the hardness and tensile properties of the paper.

  • Matte lamination

After printing, a transparent plastic film is applied to the surface of the printed sticker labe through hot pressing to protect and reduce the gloss of the sticker surface. The surface is matte, as shown in the figure below.

Similarly, there are glossy/matte varnishing, but glossy/matte lamination can enhance the hardness and tensile properties of the paper.

The paper sticker with glossy/matte lamination can be slightly waterproof and oil-proof and tear-resistant.

  • UV

1. The part of the sticker that needs to be highlighted is partially polished and brightened to make the partial pattern more three-dimensional.

2. It is printed with the matte lamination process, and the effect cannot be highlighted when the glossy lamination is used, because the glossy lamination itself brightens the effect of the sticker surface.

  • Foil hot stamping

1.Foil hot stamping is to transfer the aluminum layer in the anodized aluminum to the surface of the substrate to form a special metallic luster effect by using the principle of hot-press transfer.

2. The printing materials have various colors such as gold, silver, red, green and blue, but the hot stamping can only be single-color, and there are many kinds of foil colors.
